RF Microneedling in Burlington

Exion™ RF microneedling combines microneedling with radiofrequency thermal energy to address a range of skin concerns. The microneedles create a series of tiny controlled injuries in your skin (4 mm deep), stimulating a robust healing and rejuvenating response. The added thermal energy from the radiofrequency allows the effects of the treatment to go even further, as far as 8 mm.

After your consultation, one of our talented laser nurses will perform the treatment using our Emface™ machine with the Exion™ RF microneedling attachment. They can use RF microneedling in Burlington to treat the skin around your eyes, face, neck, abdomen, thighs, and other delicate areas. After a full course of treatment (typically 3 60 to 90-minute sessions), you can expect to notice initial improvements in the smoothness and firmness of your skin. These results can develop as early as 1 week after your first session, and full results can last up to 1 year.

Exion™ RF Microneedling involves minimal pain, and many of our clients describe a gentle warming sensation. At Cosmedica Aesthetics, we do everything we can to ensure our clients are as comfortable as possible.

While it’s not totally pain free, it’s tolerable for most clients. We provide a topical anesthetic to numb the target area before treatment, and we also offer arnica to reduce any post-treatment discomfort, swelling, or bruising.

While we normally recommend you receive 3 treatment sessions with Exion RF microneedling in Burlington, the number of sessions varies from client to client. One of our laser nurses will use your consultation to create a custom treatment plan fine-tuned to your unique needs and goals.

Exion™ RF microneedling is a noninvasive skin technique designed to help clients enjoy maximum benefits with minimal pain. That being said, it’s always a good idea to be aware of any possible side effects to treatment and how to best prevent them with post-care instructions.

• You may experience erythema and edema in the treated area. This will often disappear within 24 hours.
• Itching and irritation is common and will usually clear up in 24 hours.
• You may experience discomfort or sensitivity to tissue palpation in the treated area. This can last for 14 days.
• Pigmentation change is possible along with hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It occurs most often in patients with darker skin Types for whom caution is advised during treatment.

Results of Exion™ RF Microneedling vary from client to client. While you may notice some improvements immediately following your session, you will begin to see a more noticeable difference as early as 1 week following your first treatment. Your full results will develop in the following weeks. Results tend to last 1 year after a fully completed treatment cycle.

Despite being a noninvasive procedure designed for optimal comfort, Exion RF Microneedling may not be right for everyone. If you struggle with cold sores, skin infections, skin diseases like psoriasis, or you are receiving radiation treatment or chemotherapy, you are not a good candidate for this treatment.
